How Silky Gem began

Inspired By Vietnamese Tradition

Silky Gem began with a candy from home. In Vietnam, founder Gia Huynh grew up sharing mứt rau câu with family and guests during Lunar New Year. The colors, flavors, and time spent together stayed with her.

Years later, Gia began making her own crystal candy in the United States, drawing on those memories and the artistry of Japanese kohakutou. What started in a small home kitchen became Silky Gem.

Today, you’ll find jewel-like shapes, unexpected colors, and a very different first bite. Delicately crispy outside. Firm jelly center inside. Every gem is a little different.
