Notice Regarding USPS Tracking Statuses

If your new tracking number immediately shows your package as "Delivered" in a different city or on a past date, please do not worry.
There is currently a widespread, nationwide system issue affecting USPS tracking networks. Due to high package volumes across the country, the postal service is recycling tracking numbers much faster than their database can clear old information. As a result, newly generated shipping labels are accidentally inheriting the delivery history of a completely different package from weeks or months ago.
What this means for your order:
- Your gems are safe: Your package is being sent directly to the accurate address you provided at checkout. The physical barcode printed on your shipping label contains the correct routing data for your specific delivery.
- The system will update: Once the post office physically accepts and scans your package at the distribution center, the system will begin overwriting the old history.
- What to do: Please allow 2–4 business days after receiving your shipping confirmation for our team to complete processing and for the postal service to perform the initial scan at their facility. This physical scan will overwrite the old tracking history and show the correct, live updates for your package.
- Need an immediate update? If you would like to verify your shipment's progress in the meantime, please reach out to us at Support@silkygem.com. Our team can check our internal fulfillment records to let you know exactly when your order departed our facility and provide you with an estimated delivery timeframe.
We closely monitor all shipments leaving our Gaithersburg facility and appreciate your patience while the postal service resolves this database display error.
USPS Tracking Service Updates
- June 10, 2026: USPS commercial tracking systems continue to recycle older barcodes prematurely. Physical packages from our June 8th and June 9th batches are moving normally through the network despite the static "Delivered" text on the public tracking portal. We are monitoring the situation hourly and will update this page as the postal service clears the backlog.
Processing Timeline
- Handcrafted with Care: To ensure every gem is perfect, please allow 1–3 business days for your order to be processed before it is handed to the shipping carrier. While we strive for a quick turnaround, please note that processing can take up to 7 business days during major promotions or holiday seasons. The dates shown at checkout are estimates; actual arrival will vary depending on when your order is processed and shipped.
- Batch Preparation: We often prepare shipping labels in advance to streamline our fulfillment workflow. If your order is marked as "Pre-Shipment," it means your label has been created, but your gems are still in the final stages of being packed. Tracking will update once the carrier scans the package.
Delivery Estimates
- Domestic (US): Once handed to the carrier, shipping typically takes 3-10 business days depending on your location.
- International: Delivery usually takes 2-4 weeks, but can be longer depending on your local customs processing.
Shipping Rates & Protection
- Free Shipping: Available for US residents on orders of $65 and over.
- Package Protection: We highly recommend selecting package protection at checkout.
- Why it matters: Once a package leaves our Gaithersburg facility, the carrier (USPS/UPS) is responsible for it. Protection ensures coverage if your package is lost, stolen, or destroyed during transit.

Important Logistics
Multiple Shipments: Due to high demand, some items may be mailed separately. You will receive tracking for each individual package.
- Address Accuracy: Please double-check your address! If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, we are happy to reship it, but the customer is responsible for the new shipping costs.
- International Fees: Customers are responsible for any additional taxes, duties, or customs fees incurred upon delivery in their home country.
